Wicked

A rooster lived for 18 months after having its head chopped off?

Strange but true. A farmer from Fruita, Colo. thought he was just putting dinner on the table when he picked up an axe and beheaded one of his chickens. What happened next became the stuff of legend: The headless rooster bobbed and weaved back to the henhouse and lived for 18 more months.

The animal, later dubbed Mike and celebrated with a festival, Web sites and various magazine articles, survived because the blade missed his jugular vein and a clot prevented him from bleeding to death. The axe blow landed high enough that most of the chicken's brain stem and one ear remained intact. Mike was fed and watered by inserting an eyedropper directly into his gullet. Sadly, he later choked to death in a motel room.

Residents of Fruita remember Mike as "a big fat chicken who didn't know he didn't have a head."

Hating Crocs

Who hates them? Who banned them? Which celebs sports them? and why are we not pitching them yet?

Let's get something straight. We've endured toe socks, leg warmers, shoulder pads, Flock of Seagulls hair and sagging pants. It goes on, of course. They're all fashion trends destined to be easily ridiculed.

Then along come Crocs, and shortly thereafter, a cottage industry devoted to hating the not-exactly-plastic footwear. Search tells the story of a sandal scorned, and not just by the stylerati. Web searches for "I hate Crocs" are spiking this summer.

And a video search for the same phrase turns up examples of real hate alongside ads from the company embracing the contempt. The Crocs "Scream" ad pretty well captures it.

At the same time, plain-Jane searches for Crocs are slumping compared to last summer.

It's not just about style for some.

Hospitals on at least two continents banned their staff from wearing the shoes. Why? Administrators worried that dropped needles might poke through the holes. Crocs responded with a hole-free model, but still other hospitals fear that Crocs may generate static electricity that would interfere with life-saving medical equipment.

Can a vegan clog/sandal/shoe get a break? Is this the end of the affair for Crocs? Will the Crocs high heel be able to keep the clown-shoe trend alive? Can we just dab a little crocsbutter on it all and make it better?

Although it's true searches for Crocs are declining, the fact is, they still dwarf searches for any other type of sandal, including Tevas and flip-flops. We hate to say it, but maybe the shoe-wearing masses are voting with their feet. Go ahead and let your orange freak flags fly.

Hip Hop is wrong?

Here's the backstory on their tiff: Earlier this summer, a reporter asked Noel Galagher, of the British rock band Oasis, what he thought about hip-hop artists being invited to perform at Glastonbury, the famous music fest.

Noel said Hip Hop was "Wrong" for Gastonbury. Jay-Z got teed off.

Then in a tit-for-tat move, when Jay-Z took the stage at Glastonbury, he sang a mocking off-Key cover of Oasis biggest hit. (Video of the performance later became a huge Web hit.)

But the two singers made some play-nice moves. Gallagher said: "I like Jay-Z." Jay-Z said he wouldn't mind working with Oasis. OK, everything's fine.

Or is it? Cut to last week. Jay-Z took the stage with Kanye West at Madison Square Garden and performed "Jockin' Jay-Z" a track from his upcoming album. In the song, Jay-Z takes more swipes at Gallagher, such as: "That bloke from Oasis said I couldn't play guitar / Somebody should told him I'm a rock star."

Jay-Z has had other well-publicized feuds. Past alleged blowups have been with fellow rapper Nas, record executive Damon Dash and R&B star R. Kelly.

Has the internet finally killing the tv?

More than 80 million Americans have watched a TV show online. By 2013, a research group says, scheduled programs will account for less than half of all video viewed.

Is this the summer that the Internet finally kills television as we once knew it?
Most industry observers are stopping short of that prediction, citing some significant hurdles still in the way.

But the growing number of new deals and new devices being announced suggests that a profound change in the way people watch video -- and what video they watch -- is under way.

The line between "television" and video via the Internet already has blurred and may disappear in coming years.

At least one industry analyst has declared "TV is dead" and welcomes Americans to a new age of video everywhere.

Increasingly, Americans are watching video when they want to, and on the screen that suits them at the time. And more programming is from new sources that threaten to unlock Hollywood's domination of content.

Video is now delivered on displays and devices of every shape and size, from gigantic theater screens and ever-larger home projector screens to flat-screen HDTVs and from desktop and laptop computer monitors to tiny personal screens such as those found on iPods and mobile phones.

Hello people of earth and beyond..sorry havent post anything from last week, what can i say im a Student..gotta learn, learn, have fun, learn. but most of em was revising though because Oral exam was dated.. but its all over Now, im back to Blogging. Its not long until the 2nd Assesment followd by the Final exam. In that situation..gotta leave blogging for a long time.but thats just how life goes..'Sigh..

Worlds Youngest chef

Introducing world youngest chef Justin Miller, this is him at the age of 18

This was him at the age of 7, back when he was already a professional cooker

Justin was named and got the record of the 'Worlds youngest chef' its becuse since he was a baby he started cooking

Story og his life:

Even as a baby Justin couldnt keep out of the kitchen. at the age of 18 months he made his first cabbage roll with his mother, from his high chair.

By age 5, he made his first appearance on 'The late show with David letterman' he has made over 200 National Tv appearances since then..and is the youngest person to publish a cookbook Cooking with Justin when he was 7 (picture shown above)

Justin has consulted with th Marriott hotel restaurants to develope a kids crusine menu. He presented the National Dairy councils Mix it with milk campaign. And his likewise presented Ragu express.

In additional Justin is known as the Heinz ketchup kid connoisseur and has done multiple events of Heinz date.

The western PA Bakers assosciation and Caphalon cookware, and he has also been a chef host at an Academy Awards dinner benefiting under privelleged kids in Los Angelas.

Most importantly he is a role model of young people, showing them that cooling is fun and eating healthy food is the right choice for every kid.

Speaking of 'Freaky fridays' check out the date on your calendar its '888' today..The 8th-August of 2008. So many parties, events, weddings held today..including myself is going to attend a wedding in kb tonight.

Those pupils who are supersticious made sorts kinda events on this auspicious date...best of example; the chinese..Number 8 is some kinda lucky number for them, it brings luck, wealth, fortunes..wether or not i dont know if its true..thats why the opening ceremony of the Beijing olympic in China is today!! 8pm..welp, better not miss that.

Though i really felt dissappointed about the 2 Brunei athletes who were supposed to be participating the Beijing olympic tonight; but got excluded by the IOC to participate it!!! (FYI)

Okeyhhh..i think this is all for today..gotta get myself ready for that wedding mentioned..Good Night:)

The Mtv asia award night held in Genting, Malaysia..Live in Mtv 2nd august on 11pm!
