The Gone Series
Among all the books that I've read, here's a personal favourite of mine:-
I've posted a review about this book last year. You can search for it in my post archive. So far, I have to say this is the best book I have ever laid my readings on. It was so great, that I had a second read on it this year. I guess this book only has it's effect on certain teenagers who enjoys sci-fi and all those alike. But I don't think adults would enjoy it that much.
Why? Because in the book (and they quote); "In the blink of an eye; Everyone disappears. GONE. Except for the young, Teens, Middle schoolers, Toddlers. But not one single adult. No teachers, no cops, no doctors, no parents. Just as suddenly, there are no phones, no internet, no television. No way to get help. And no way to figure out what's happened"
I mean, how attention catching is that? But the story doesn't end in that book. Theres a second installment:-
Doesn't make much of a surprise that I've already read this one too. Last month. It was one of the six books that I bought form Uk this year. I gave one to ZqahMesli cause I know she's more of a bookworm than I am. HA! Okay so anyway, this sequel is no match comparing to the first one. But still it made it to my list of must-read-again books. lol.
The storyline of this book is relatively different from the first as it gets much more disturbing, breath taking and more blood spilling. I mean, all the kids have gone totally wild and nuts what with the fact that some of them developed some kind of power that you can actually relate to the characters from the tv series: Heroes. According to the author, the book was inspired by Heroes, Lost and Lord of the flies by Stephen King. If you have actually watched those stuff, you might get a clear picture of how the book is.
But still, as good as it gets, the story still hasn't ended after two series of books. Because theres a third installment:-

Summer?
Oh god! Its been a hectic week, what with all the tensions and pressures of the mid-year exam. I have no doubt everyone at the point of still-schooling received their fair share of what I've just gone through. I'm telling you, this whole Year 10 syllabus is haaaard! although we've barely made it halfway. Now that its all over, atleast for this term, everyone especially moi' is relieved just to get our mind off those theories and calculations and just sit back, enjoy the holiday. And thank god our class doesn't have extra lessons over this holiday. Wohoo! :)
I haven't really planned anything to do though, its not like I've got one of those 1,001 things to do during this holiday, well other than watching my excessive collections of un-watched Dvds. ha! Or probably extending my guitar lesson via the internet or read my books (no not school books :p) Or maybe, the most important thing of all: Loosing my weight. Oh yeah, I'm also thinking of continuing my excerise at the bsrc gym, wow, been a whole month since I last did that. Hey, on second though, I do have alot of things to do. What do you know. lol. I was initially thinking of posting one of my book reviews today, but I found out I can't upload any pictures to my blog anymore. Why the heck is that? err. I'll try to see if I can fix that sooner or later.
So has anyone watched Glee ep. 20 yet? Well I have! :p It won't be in Starworld till another 2 weeks. But I'm telling ya, Glee was entertaining at it's best! The songs they covered in this episode are just awesome! Here's a clip:
oh, HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODYH!!

Miss me yet?
Okay so it seems that I am no longer active with my blog, obviously. Its really disapointing, I know. However, I'm keeping an active update of myself and my daily life in Scot on Facebook. Yes yes, everything comes down to Facebook. Seriously.
Anyway, just feel free to add me up on Facebook. Its Syafi Al Waly.
And having said that, I just wanna make it clear that, that is my real name. I dont really know why some people keep babbling about me using a fake name on Facebook. Whats so fake about my real name anyway? And to make it more clear than anything else and for the satisfaction of some, my full real name is Ak Md Syafi Al Waly. There, you happy? See, now I myslef is turning into one of those babbling queens. Yikes!
Ohh wait, it seems that I am not gonna be updating anything about Scotland anymore, cause I'll be leaving tomorrow for London. But Scotland was full of it! By 'it' I mean everything fun and awesome! Its sad we have to leave this place :(
Okay okay I'm stopping. Got some packing to do. And dont forget to add me up on Facebook. Bye! :)

Hello Scotland!
Its our 3rd day here in Perthshire, Sctoland. I might as well update this blog and put a stop to my inactiveness :p
So anyway, our journey from Brunei to Scotland took us about 24 hours! (Yes, 1 friggin day) Literally! Counting our 16 hours of flight and in between a transit in Dubai. But that only made us to Heathrow, London. Yes we had another transit in
Heathrow and we have to wait 5 hours just for the next plane to Edinburgh,
Scotland. After the friggin long wait, we finally made our way to Scotland via
the Brittish airlines which took us about 1 hour's time. When touched down in
Edinburgh, dad fetched us up there. Yes as I said before he was already in Scot
3 weeks prior to us. Because he's undergoing one of his yearly studying course
in uk.
Anyway, to get to Perthshire (our final destination) from Edinburgh, its another long drive. But luckily dad owns one of those rent cars, so we made our way via that. But dad took us for a roam in Edinburgh despite us being tired and weary and the fact that we haven't even showered for a day throughout our journey. But it fancies me! alot! having to go around on the heart of Scotland on our first day.
Yeap. This one was in Edinburgh. Its my first day in Scot and I already made
friends with a Scotsman. Ha! :pSo currently we're staying here in Perthshire. This place
isn't so bad itself. Let alone the fact that we live in an appartment just
across the street of some series of shops including Marks & Spencer, Next
and best of all: WH Smith. Yes as you've figured it out: Its a book store. A
book store that has somewhat a mini library in it's upper floor. So anytime I
get bored in the appartment, I'll simply escape myself to WH Smith :)Initially we were put to live in one of those country cottages but somehow it didn't happen. Which was a good thing, because if it does happen, I wouldn't even be blogging right now due to the exception of Wi-Fi's there. And also the exception of some shopping centres around the place. Which basically comes down to the word: Boredom. Seriously. I went for a visit to the cottage itself last night. But come to think of it, it wasn't all bad considering the natural beauty of the surroundings. But I still prefer living in suburbs, especially in Scotland :)Ok i gotta go. Bye!

Goodbye Brunei! :)

Hoping the best, but expecting the worst.
So anyway, we were supposed to start packing yesterday, but we haven't even laid out a single cloth yet given the fact that our flight to UK is abruptly un-confirmed. Its not cancelled, just hindered and delayed. But if its gonna remain like this for weeks and weeks to come, than that would officially seal the cancelation :(
Yadayada.. I might as well tell you where I'm specifically going since I already told you about our UK flight. If it is gonna happen, we will be travelling to Perthshire, Scotland and London, England. Unlike 2008, I stayed for about a month but only in London. This time its 1 country per week. Which means a week in Perthshire and another in London. Which also means its gonna be downright hectic as we'll be using as much of our free time to roam around these said places. And its gonna be a little challenging too since my dad won't be with us on our flight to Scotland. Because he'll be waiting for us there, yeah he's already in Scotland. He's undergoing his yearly studying course again in the UK, so that kinda explains the whole thing :)
So I've just done reading an article about the latest of all latest news about the volcano. Apparently now some electric force started developing in one of it's recent eruption. Its obviously getting stronger and now it can make lightning bolts sting out from it's crater, literally. (I'll try to upload the photo, later)
But, I did came across a good news. Looks like due to all the protests made by the grounded passengers all over europe, airport in Heathrow (London) is now allowing limited flights for those said passengers. They're also receiving certain flights from Asia. Thankgod!
But still, chances of our flight being canceled is very high, not unless the volcano's ashes in the air wears off within these few days before my flight. I hope it does y'know and all those closed down airports would be back on track. Lets just hope so.

This is so not happening
More details about that on my next post. As of right now, I just wanna burry my head into my pillow and scream like no one's business. And I should probably pray too. 0:)
Furthermore, congratulations usu Ben (who hasn't even updated his blog since godknowswhen) and his wife, usu Fiqah for the deliverance of a newborn baby girl this morning. Another cousin: checked! :D

Hatter's Futterwacken
I have to say, the movie didn't turn out quite the way I had expected. Infact, most of the things in that movie didn't turn out quite the way I had expected. Which I find it rather disappointing than amusing. Yes -Boo me as if I'm Simon Cowell on a critical idol night. lol. Anyway, the movie is more of a sequal to the first (original) Alice in Wonderland story -regardless- whether you've read it in the book or watched that old animated movie of it in Disney channel. In this movie -Alice came back to Wonderland -I don't know, when in her 20's i guess- and didn't even remember of her first visit to Wonderland few years ago (seriously -why did the movie makers made her forget) And now when she came back, all of them living creatures in Wonderland (that has met Alice before) was like "this is so not Alice. Nu-uh" and Alice was like "I'm so Alice uh-huh, but who are you?" HAHAA. okay so I modified that dialogue abit. So what? =p
However, the most noticed-boring parts of the movie was when Alice changes in size. At a moment Alice was small because she drank a weird potion of some kind. And at another moment she became bigger by eating this small cake. But that wasn't the end of her altering sizes in that movie. Because it was followed by more eating and drinking of those weird things, thus Alice was like big and small and big and small throughout the movie, wait i think she was medium sized in the ending. But STILL.
Well in conclussion, I won't say that the movie was rottenly bad, because it totally was not. It was entertaining and fun nontheless -especially when Hatter made his hit Futterwacken dance - just that, for me, the stoyline was well..a bit narrow and crooked. Wish it was more like the original Alice in Wonderland. I guess the movie makers have their reasons why they didn't made it as so. But uh -this is what I think. I dont know about you guys. And dear Syuhada, hope I didn't brought your hopes down about the movie by shedding all it's flaws. lol.
And OHH! I am so looking forward to watch this movie:
Its also known as the Avatar. I've been following it's animated series in Nickelodeon since last year. Theres something quite distinctive and creative about it that made it stand out from the other animated series. Totally. And I can't believe why Dev Patel, that guy from Slumdog Millionaire, has to play the role of Zuko in the movie. Zuko is a descendant of the chinese Fire Nation. CHINESE. Dev is Brittish-Indian. Which won't make any sense if he is to play the role of a chinese descendant. Unless! Unless the movie makers changed the Fire Nation to a descendance of indians. On the contrary, that'll be intersting. I'm still gonna watch it, regardless. Til next time, people!
