So Brunei is on the gateway of it's 26th year of independence.

Well Congratulations Brunei!

And this year the National Day is carrying the theme "Negaraku Brunei Darussalam"

Oh did I mention I'm taking part in the march past for the National day celebration on this Tuesday? Well I am. We're having marching practices for the past few weeks and I'm telling you, I'm getting darker than I could ever imagine. But thankgod someone invented sunscreen! Its a life saver. lol. So anyway, despite getting darker and tired, it literally brings me great pleasure taking part in this year's National Day celebration. Its the experience that counts and it certainly beats sitting at home on the National day and just watch it from television or in other peoples' cases, they dont even watch it at all. Siapa terasa tu ah? lol. Well I for one, am trying to hone that patriotic spirit within me which I lacked since the day I was born. Thats why I'm trying to sunk that down for a change and doing this national day marching certainly helps.

And another thing is I promised to post some updates on this blog the other week and I did'nt until today. Its just because I'm really tired after doing all those marching practices. And dear Syuhada Syamsul, I hope you understand why I did'nt showed up for the aerobic classes last week. lol. Furthermore.. Fire burning!

Wow. Something extremely hot is going on at Facebook at this moment and apparently its affecting us Bruneians.

Okaay I might as well tell the story here since I'm already in my blog account. So theres this guy who created this online group on Facebook called "Brunei most boring country", fortunately for him he managed to get alot of followers. But as time went by, it was suprising enough to find out that most of his followers were going against him when his opinions started to explicitly show provocation. He wrote:
"Brunei's a nice place but technically boring as nowadays. They should have pub and loads of nightclubs so that british, new zealander, australian and americans will love it. Brunei is the land of boredom so just do what you want if you find it boring"

But the story ain't over until there. Apparently the admin/creator of that online group disappeared today (or yesterday). Likewise, he ditched his own group because of the uncountable amount of haters he created. But a while later, came another person, not a Bruneian though, and claimed that she was the one who created the group, not the person at first. And what's worse is that she posted even more incendiary things about Brunei, which I am not gonna write it on here. Trust me you'll go ballistic if I do. I guessed those words provoked some of the Bruneians that has accounts on Facebook. And now the Bruneians are bombarding that group with hate messages. What's even worse is that the current admin of the group wont delete what she has posted and created, including the group. She could've atleast said sorry, but she did'nt. Now she's having dirty debates with all of the Bruneians on Facebook. And it seems that the Bruneians are winning. Well not that I'm proud of it, because most of their comments are filthy insulting =/

And come to think of it, whats the point of leaving hate messages anyway? It only sheds anger, and fighting anger with anger won't even solve the problem. The admin does'nt want to give in, its her wrongdoing. Just let the higher power tackle this. Because I find some of the Bruneians being way too dramatic about this; there were many of those who left chains of dirty comments, I was surprised on how some Bruneians can be so crucially critical. I was like ''panas hati banar banar kah orang Brunei ane or just simply boasting?'' From my point of view, those comments and messages will only fuel up the fire of the current admin and it could possibly spread to her people also, having said that she's from another country. Furthermore our national day is only a few weeks away, and we can't let this situation trigger adversity among us Bruneians.

Well thats the latest news that I've aquired about that group. I'll be back soon, i think =]

I've seen this video a couple of times..A royal holiday report about Brunei. I find it really fascinating, a naturalist walking on the face of Brunei making reports of Brunei's world hidden architectures and at the same time tossing remarks all over. Know what I mean? Exactly.

I'll promise you..Once you click that play button..It'll open your eyes of how Brunei is really like. And not to mention, how the foreigners would think of Brunei. ''Its really captivating to see, but it'll be more if we experience it''. And there goes another iWaly original conceptual phrase! The video did managed to get satisfying feedbacks from some people..Suprisingly most of them were from foreigners.

Here's one from an individual in UK:

I highlighted a sentence there in thicker font..From my point of view..This is how most foreigners would think of Brunei: Its peacefulness comparing to some other countries. I mean, some people are having intentions to escape all those crimes, pollution, etc in their country and Brunei would be the perfect nonchalant place to settle in.

Below comes one of my favourite remark, Its from a local who lives remotely overseas from Brunei..

Well I dont blame this person..Because Brunei doesnt have what we are expecting like some other countries..But Brunei is catching up as we well as improving. Sooner or later we'll get what we want. But I just hope the developments wont get too far cause we dont want to end up like some countries..

The first thing that popped out of my mind was the word Patriotic (Re: Second highlighted sentence) This person, although living overseas has'nt forget who he/she really is..Because some local people living in other countries forget who they really are once they find that particular country to be more interesting than the local country.

It comes with great pleasure in wishing my beloved country its 25th National anniversary. Congratulations Brunei!!

This has come to my attention:
The word 'patriotic' has been tossed everywhere in the country, hence the spirit just was'nt there..I dont understand why some locals look down to their own counrty..What are they trying to prove? Other countries are much better? Sure comparing to some countries, Brunei is a wee bit low in some circumstances..but with the supports and spirits of the people..Brunei got what it takes to make an extra upgrade.

I confess, the MIB lessons i've been taking is starting to pay-off..Haha..But as a local, it is my privilege in giving my fullest support to the country in this festive moment. And as we all know..the national motto has been given; Kedewasaan Bernegara..Or as i would like to refer it: All grown up!! Dont you think so? 25 Years of age..Imagine when you are that particular age..You'll be categorize as an adult! Now so as the country's nation.

So give your fullest support and divlge your love and reverence to the country!! Somewhat, this makes me want to add: Merdeka!!

Home sweet home; Brunei

The tiny sultanate of Brunei Darussalam has long been known of Asia's best secret.
Its Wealth has hid for centuries.
And its palacesysm mosques has been hidden from the world.
Brunei may seen as if its invisible, but now Brunei has oppened its doors.
Together we can experience the rich Malay culture of the country.

This video has inspired me, it opened my eyes how Brunei is really like.
