Song of the day

You've gotta give this song a listen! I find it fulfilling =D

A gentleman's choice of wear

Theres something about these formal shoes that gives that sexy touch whenever someone wears them, well..from my point of view which is. Not to mention it's self-evident for a classy and fancy look. How I adore such creations! lol.

Down here is my favorite; Upper edge cording, 1" heel, French corded moc toe, American patent PVC upper and (best of all) it has a premium (red) cushion insole! WOW!!

And whats equally great are these white formal shoes!

Lets hope I'll get one for Raya next year =P

Its what I call 'Joie De Vivre'

A friend of mine can't help noticing the french words i've been using in my previous post. She asked me how I knew those words. Lets just say i've been taking french lessons when reading this book: Tale of two summers.

And speaking of books, want to see my neat book collection s'il vous plait?

I've been collecting em' since late last year. I know its not many, cause I've been reading library books as well. And no those library books ain't included in the picture above.

Furthermore...I've just finished my readings on If you think you can (teen edition) authored by T.j Hoisington. Sounds familiar to you? Its just that I've been mentioning about it alot, especially in this blog. Given that I have finished reading it, i'm striving my attentions to Torey Hayden's Silent Boy (aka Murphey's boy), which I just bought yesterday at Best Eastern. Heres a review on the first 20 pages: Its bona-fide baby. lol!

I'm making reading as a habit. Just like what my old primary teacher said: make it a habit, and you'll derive benefits. Frankly it all started when I first had the thoughts that reading a story book could entertain me on my 16 hours of flight to London last year. lol. But by golly reading turned out to be an obsession, I bought two books that month when I was in London. And one of them was a limited edition! The books are in the picture above. I like reading stories, which explains my devotion to the subject History, which furthermore, I got an A for, in my mock-exam =D

As an aftermath I started living with this philosophy; judge a book not by it's cover or dont judge a book by looking at it's cover. Trust me a book that has a good lookin' cover does'nt mean that the storyline or the inside is better. Most of my books are sci-fi (science-fiction) and have stories that does'nt relate to reality in anyways at all. Its nice reading them, if you anticipate which is, it feels like living in this c'est choute fantasy world. lol.

Nevertheless (here comes my formal statement) I read because I acknowlege it's benefits, needless to say what they are though. Thats why I'm trying to keep a passionate, bourgeoisie perspective towards reading and not let that habit just fade away.

Especially in this holiday, I've got a lot of time to kill by reading my story-books =D

P.s: Navigate yourselves to the the book's sources by clicking on the highlighted words.
And just so you know; all the italic weird words in this post, well it's french. look it up =D

Arrivederci!

Its all about fittin' in

Bonjour everyone! I am back. Sorry for the long break. Needless to say that I have to prepare myself for my exams earlier this month.

Now that its Summer for me and I've finally got 3 months of joie de vivre...I can blog anytime I insist =D

Anyway I was reading this article about 'Teenagers nowadays' and i feel like its something worth blogging about. It reads that a fourteen year old boy caught stealing a pair of jeans from a clothing store claimed that it was'nt his fault. His reason was that his friends made him do it and if he did'nt he won't be accepted as part of the group.

But are we to believe that a fourteen year old can't differentiate between right and wrong? Giving a reason that it was instead his friend's fault is kind of ridiculous, but not entirely i guess; maybe its just peer pressure from his friends. Maybe the kid desperately needs friends and is willing to do anything to achieve it. What I'm trying to point out here is not the wrongdoings of the kid, but instead the friends that he is trying to fit in with. Thats why at times we've got to think wisely before choosing the people we wish to be friends with because somewhat- our friends can shape who we are either positively or negatively. Follow me on this: Imagine if you associate yourself with people who do drugs, alcohols or have the habit of stealing. Their negative influences would slowly attract you to do likewise. But imagine associating yourself with people that you can draw upon ideas, energy, motivation and accountability. I guess you could already imagine the positive effects it sheds.

Nonetheless, the people we associate with will have a profound impact in our lives. They definitely play a relevant role. Thus I like to dedicate this post to all of my thoughtful, caring friends who have always been there for me regardless. Although some of you are heading for your seperate ways next year; by moving out to different schools. But I wont worry much about that, Brunei is not that big; i'm sure we'll run into each other in the future when we got careers and ask one another 'how's life going'. lol. can't wait for that to happen.
But until then:
Au revoir and
Happy Holidays yo!

Finally!

Have you guys heard the exciting news?

Avril Lavigne is officially (and finally) breaking up with her awstruck-rich husband Deryck Whibley! This one is real because she wrote it in her own blog. They've been a married couple for almost three years now and I guessed they're not enjoying each other's company anymore, which possibly led them to their seperation. Anyways..I think Avril is better off without her husband, she's been very quiet since she got married. She's not her usual rock-princess self anymore. lol =P

Move along Avril Lavigne!
Will be back with more updates =D

Drunk or just palying stupid?

Can you believe it? Kanye West interupted Taylor Swift's moment when receiving her VMA award for best-female videos last weekend. And I heard Jenny of Kfm issuing about this on air yesterday. Its one heck of a controversy, especially for this week. Check out the footage:

.
And if you're not satisfied of Kanye's demeaning behaviour that night...wait 'till you hear what President Obama has to say:

.
I mean..what is up with Kanye? He's a talented singer, a great rapper and all the sudden he showed up in Taylor Swift's spotlight saying things that shoul'nt be said especially in the publicity of a huge audience. Kanye sure faced a severe consequence when Obama had his say. Probably he's already burning in shame and remorse right now. lol =P

"I am not your friend"

It saddens me how some teachers would insist having a bad relationship with their students.
I mean...have you ever heard a teacher strictly saying "I am not your friend" to their class? Well I have and I don't mean to exaggerate assuming what that teacher said is only figurative, but don't you think it will send a negative message to their students? Follow me on this picture:

-literally though-

And if the teacher is downright strict..I doubt the students would have a good time sitting in the teacher's class. Well, I know a few teachers in my school who acquires a good reputation with their students, they did so by being a friendly sport with their class, thus they are treated much properly than the teachers who are otherwised. Anyone familiar with this theory: "In order for an educator to derive an attentive class..he/she must basically set up a good relationship with his/her students" Its true in so many ways. Well I'm not saying that teachers should'nt be strict with their students...no. It is inevitable of their strictness to part-in when they are teaching..but it is no harm to keep a good-sporting relationship between teachers and students. Come to think about it..whats the point of a teacher being furiously strict all the time? It would only spark hatred in the students' eyes.

Swayze died yesterday?

It caught me by surprise:
"Legendary Patrick Swayze, aged 57, died yesterday on the 14th of September"

I took the liberty of uploading a picture of Patrick in the 90's

He was best known for his roles in the all time romantic movie Ghost.
And his death was the cause of a pancreatic cancer that he has been suffering since last year.

Well.. there goes another legend.

People In Need

Most of you guys might be familiar with the local community known as Sounds Of Hope.
I really admire the whole idea of the community, which is to fulfil his Majesty's vision of zero poverty in Brunei by the year 2035. The community consists of youth volunteers who engage themselves in activities such as visitting homes of needy people and persuade them to somewhat stand against poverty. Adding to this they also supported them with foods. I gave my fullest attention after first hearing about this.

"I feel there is a need for me to help these families in poverty, especially in helping them to build a new beginning"
Remarks of: The Founder of SOH.

-This is one of their most heart-touching poster-(Click to enlarge)

I feel like this is a good start to decrease the rate of poverty in the counrty. And this act should deserve the fullest of supports from the society, especially from the locals. You will always have my support thus i'm looking forward to be a part of this community like the rest of the volunteers but I intend to join in on a later date since I'm going through a peril right now (preparing for my nearing PMB exam)

-Wishing the community and it's supporters the best of luck-Especially in their upcomming charity gala event!

YE' GOODE OLE' THIMES!

Wow. The Eid is not until a few more weeks!

I am so looking forward to celebrate Eid this year since yesteryear we celebrated it in London for the very first time meaning we did'nt celebrate it traditionally. And we were far away from the family that we usually celebrate with every year thus making the Raya Spirit unperceivable by us. Although we did enjoyed the first day of Raya there with a few Bruneians from Newcastle whom we had never met before. Nonetheless we made it feel like we're celebrating it in Brunei by loitering around the living room and munching on some of the kuihs from Brunei and some cashews (peanuts) . And the funny thing is we had a dismay on what we were wearing since most of us wore the cara Melayu costume in a jacket or a sweater, well regarding the cold Autumn temperature outside. lol.

Ofcourse, we can hardly forget the family in Brunei. I remembered when we were Skyping (video calling) each other through the internet. I did it often with one of my uncles in KB and there was one time we were skyping with some of our relatives who were having Raya at my Grand's place. It totally was a memorable Eid. Unfortunately we did'nt took any pictures on the first day but my mind is still wired to it. Oh..I almost forgot, a big thanks to our Aunty zaLeha for rendering a good hospitality while we were there. YE' GOODE OLE' THIMES!

This is a picture that I had never posted before. Its a shot of us a family in Trafalgar Sq. London. Taken by one of the people there.

And..I'm so sorry for disapperaing all the sudden leaving this blog deadly redundant for almost 2 months. Notice my last post was on the 15th of July. lol. So I'm taking this oppurtunity to wish everyone a Happy Ramadhan since I did'nt got the chance to post it at first because of my exam.

Salam Ramadhan Al-Mubarak everyone!

Looking for some fun!

''The angry boy a bit too insane''
-Jumper, Third Eye Blind.

I guess the Weekend-fun is just not working for anyone this week since we are all advised to stay at home or atleast wear safety-masks when going out due to the rapidly increased H1N1 disease in Brunei. Rumor also has it that schools are not going to open this Monday =/

Well..all those depressing factors ain't gonna stop me from having my fun with TV sensation! lol. I managed to find a video of Jim Carey singing Third eye blind's Jumper from his movie Yes Man!

Jim is not that bad in singing..Especially the part in 0:43..You'll laugh!!
Seriously you just got to Click Play

I am posting randomly today..So that kinda explains the picture..

I tittled the picture: When Boredom Strikes
That was me and cousin Boboy looking for some fun at One Borneo since all the ladies were gone shopping..haha..

My fair share of complacent

''Another day..another casualty''
-When I'm gone, Simple Plan.

It totally was news tonight..
Having heard about the H1N1's 93rd case here in Brunei just got the fireworks popping inside my head. And not to mention the first death that the H1N1 has caused to a 12 year old local. Innalillah.

I was reading cousin Muaz's blog this morning about the certain Bruneian who stands ignorant towards the H1N1 disease. I think I should have my fair share of complacent on this. But seriously-I cant even believe our locals are acting this way. Some even remarked why they hangout at the Mall instead of staying at home although they are aware of the spreading H1N1 disease especially in crowded places. For instance:

A 13-year-old student, Nadheerah Affandy also said that the reason she was at The Mall was because she had nothing to do at home. "I am scared of contracting the virus here, but I would rather come out because there is nothing to do at home," she said, adding that she might think about staying at home for the rest of the week.

I've copied the above from an article of BruDirect..And It suprises the heck out of me..A person who rather spends swashbuckling time in crowded places than staying safe at home. And If I was the one interviewing her..I would reply something like ''You're just a downright disgrace if you asked me'' For good's sakes I will!

Yes people, that is what happens when my critics got loose. lol =P

And if you think that teenager's comment was'nt disgraceful enough..Wait until you hear what a parent has to say:

Parent, Zulkifli Hj Tengah, whose three children are in primary schools, echoed the same sentiments. "Although I am aware of the advisory by MoE, I do not feel scared bringing all my children here because it's a safe place to me."

Dont parents usually know better? But from this individual....where do i even get started?

If you wish to read the whole article, which I highly recommend, click here.
You'd be suprised to know just how ignorant people could be!

An Inspiration

''Your past does NOT have to equal your future''
-Tj Hoisington.

If fascinates me you know..
How a life story of a person can turn out to be an inspiration to many. Who am I talking about?
Is non other than the author of The Harry Potter Phenomenon: J.K Rowling. Well frankly, I am not much of a fan of Harry Potter and speaking technically, its not about her creation that I am majorly inspired of but instead her life-story before she became successful.

Long-story short, allow me to shed some light..
Before the Harry Potter Phenomenon was published, and before J.K Rowling became successful..She was known, to have dealt with poverty, unemployment and being a single parent. But still, all those deteriorating factors never had her giving in to her personal vision of publishing her books. Rowling was also known to made only $105 per week from Welfare. But in an effort to save every penny, she cuts back on meals and spent all day in local caffes to prevent heating bills at home. At the cafes, Rowling would write on note pads while her daughter Jessica napped besides her.

Determined Rowling was to complete her books and have it accepted although she has faced so much deprssion in her life. After waiting three years for a response, she finally published her book and the Harry Potter Phenomenon began! Over 250 million of her books have been sold world wide and Rowling was named the world best-paid authors of all time-with her worth reaching over one billion dollar!

There you have it folks, my source of inspiration! And the story also holds the phrase I've post above..Your past does NOT have to equal your future! It really suits great with the whole topic. Rowling knew she could do it and have a successful future although her past might seem downright depressing. If you think it does'nt work out then, it certainly does'nt mean It cant work out now. It all comes down to determination and from my own perspective it also involves self-believe. Thats why YOU of all people should be inspired by something you are sure of..

Asking For My Opinion?

''So I start a revolution from my bed''
-Dont look back in anger, Oasis.

A friend of mine requested me online to make a post about their so-called 'demand' to stop the re-opening of schools this Monday due to the rapidly increasing H1N1 cases, which, just for the record has reached (in Brunei) to a total number of 25 cases! Eventually...I laughed at his ambitious request, its not like I can do anything to prevent the government from letting the schools to re-open (unless I start a revolution). But my friend has a point..just today the cases of H1N1 has increased by a number of 5. So it is not wrong to say that I agree with him and I am looking forward to see the school's door closed due to the H1N1 cases. It has come to me that YOU of all people should'nt neglect this circumstance and be otherwised because from my point of view and hopefully many more, people could get easily infected by the H1N1 virus just through a matter of schooling.

Yes-We all have been informed that each and every school will held an inspection carried out by teachers to their students before going into classes starting this Monday. But ''What If?'' Yes! Those are the two words that can describe people's inconvinience to start schooling next week. ''What If'' something goes wrong and not according to plan? What if-the teachers are not experienced enough to inspect his/her students? And to the fact that students who does'nt know they have the H1N1 symptoms mingles around with other students before the inspection. Its possible!!! Whoa-I'm starting to sweat here, lol. I just think that the government should stop the re-opening of schools for atleast a week's time until the H1N1 cases wears-off. Only then we could start schooling and still with the inspection.

I posted a very-short version about this yesterday on Facebook and yeah-I got thumbs-up feedbacks from some people..But there are still some that disputes me. Mainly the Brainy ones. With all due respect-I'm not trying to be the person who will be protested by some people until they say ''who do you think you are?'' No! I'm just a boy who publicizes his opinions for good sakes! And I know-The brainies or possibly the adults will dispute me..Because hey! Our mindsets are not the same. I dont blame ya'..One of the brainies a.k.a smart ones remarked that they wanted to school-study and (heck) be smarter. But dont you think that with all this virus spreading around us we could study publicly (school). A heck no to that!

This is a basic matter that we all have to govern together..After all the virus is spreading mojorly among the younger ones. So what will it be? Education or Safety?

Edited (18 hours after first published): So yeahh-Just watched the news tonight. School's are closed down for a week's time starting on Monday just like what I and many others have wanted. It happened so fast-It was just this morning that I created & published this post and somewhat-added a little reverential demands in it to make it more justified! And tadaa..After hearing the news tonight..We got what we demanded..Seriously-I think the government reads my blog. haaa..kiddin.

Legacy

''Make a little space..Make a better place''
-Heal the world, Michael Jackson.
Having heard about M.J's death made me spent the rest of the afternoon making research about his life-story on the internet. Moreover it kept me sitting on the couch watching his THS on channel E. Although I've seen it a couple of times before, it does'nt really felt the same as like watching it on the day hearing about his death! And no-I'm not going to update further information about his death, since probably most of you have heard about it from various sources. But I managed to find an article by Michael Ventre that you might find interesting:

‘King of Pop’ leaves the legacy of a boy prince
-Famous since childhood, singer was never comfortable in adult world-

Most kings are destined to be remembered as kings, not as the person they had been before ascending to power. Even though Michael Jackson earned recognition as the “King of Pop,” the legacy he leaves is that of a boy prince.

Michael Jackson was never comfortable in the adult world. Early on he recognized he would be the happiest in the land of Ferris wheels, cotton candy, docile animals and 24/7 playtime, and he clung to that life. He looked at film of the Jackson 5, circa 1968, noticed the front man was a kid, and wondered whatever

Michael Jackson passed away today. It’s always sad when parents outlast their children. It’s even sadder when the inner child and the adult can’t decide who will go first.

Michael Jackson is dead?

''But in this ever changing world in which we live in..Makes you give in and cry''
-Live and let die, Paul McCartney.

I was browsing through a particular blog just momentarily and you could say I came across one of the most shocking news I've ever heard, about the death of The King Of Pop: Michael Jackson.

At first I didnt really believed about this. But once I Googled it....Its a fact!! Michael Jackson is pronounced dead at age 50 on the 25th June 2009 which was yesterday.

That certainly was a F-Y-I to me. Such depressing.
I think I'm gonna stop here..I'll be back with more information/update about M.J's death..While in the mean time you can search about this online.

Dedication

Dad..
Thankyou for the devotion you have rendered..
Thankyou for the support you have presented..
Thankyou for the knowledge you have shed..
Thankyou for everything you have dedicated..
Thankyou nonetheless for never giving up on us
..

The least I can do is to express my gratitude on you..
Surely I will recompense everything you have did to us..
Not today..Not tommorrow..
Its a promise I will hold..
We'll just have to wait and see..
Hence..A Happy Fathers Day I wish.

To all and to my dad.

If You Think You Can!

''Theres a crucial time when you need to tune out the critics''
-Tj Hoisington.

I am currently reading one of Tj Hoisington's book: If you think you can. I've read through it's first 20 pages and I came across one of his persuading topic about the certain people who stands in the way of your dreams. I have to agree on this because this is a common matter, infact this is revolving around us everytime we are going after our dreams or trying to achieve our goals. Likewise, certain people who walks up to you and say something like ''You dont have what it takes'' Well...these people could be just anyone-your friends, your teachers even your family members. They feel like they know whats best for you and prevent you from taking the leap. 'Kowing whats best for you?' : In this case..If you think your goals or dreams can be a little bit too edgy or risky, you should think twice before you act and be consulted by the people who you think are wiser than you..For instance: Parents.

In some other cases, there are some people who will prevent you from achieving your dreams and goals just because they know you will succeed. They are unlikely to be the parents but friends. Sometimes friends, well..some friends, If they see you going for something higher than their's they will eventually talk you out of it in a friendly yet devious manner. These kinds of people are toxic. And No-its not because they know whats best for you but because of jelaousy.

Allow me to shed some light on this topic: The story of Galileo for instance. For centuries people commonly believed that the earth was at the centre of the universe and the sun revolves around it. Many great minds disputed this belief and it was'nt until Galileo came along to prove otherwise. He divulged this to the leaders at that time with his perfected telescope. Here's where the point starts: The leaders felt threatened because somewhat-Galileo 'contradicted' their superiority and beliefs. So the leaders tortured Galileo just to retract his position. Eventually Galileo did in 1633. Our of fear for his life, he retracted his goals and beliefs.

Get the point? -Sometimes people like the leaders in the story of Galileo who cant see new possibilities for themselves are unlikely to see new possibilities for others. Or in cases of Jelaousy. If you are those kinds who likes to keep quiet and be less critical, you can easily be brought down by the jelousy of others. Solutions? Be otherwised. Its a time you let our your inner roar. Your criticism. Just like what I have copied from Tj Hoisington's writting and composed it to a phrase: ''Theres a crucial time when you need to tune out the critics''
And you know exactly when the crucial time is.

Beyond Simplicity

''You might be a big fish in a little pond
Does'nt mean you've won cause along may come
A bigger one''
-Lost, Coldplay.

Sometimes it makes me wonder...
Wondering why my thoughts sometimes differ from some people, although among those people I am the only one who is having thoughts repelling against their's. I mean, those certain people are like exporting (from their mind) series of the same ideas like one another..While I, I remain particular since what I have stored in my 'idea-box' does'nt really relate their's. Well this does'nt make me left out or excluded because in the end I'm gonna say something like ''Its life, people cant relate to the same ideas/thoughts/opinions, thats why we have revolutions''

And from what I have thought of this, Is just that I have a mindset of Beyond Simplicity

Yeah-Its because I never took much interest in simple things..Well dont get me wrong or anything..I'm just saying of what is inside my mind. Like I always avoid thinking that in the future I will work in a company's cubicle typing paperworks for the rest of my life (nightmare). I want to explore the world atleast. And judging from my choices, well my mom could tell, cause she always whines about me having a bad taste..although what I have choosed interests me but not to others.
I always like to see the bigger things in life and just hope I can reach up to it, but I never had concerned the little things in life. Thats my flaw. Likewise: Going for the much advanced without concerning the basics. This is what my dad always provoke me with: Basics!

Just recently, I realised that this 'Beyond Simplicity mindset' of mine is just family genetics. In other words, I got it from a particular family member. And in other-other words: Waris. Who will it be is my grandfather on my mother's side. I knew him since I was just a toddler..Until now, I can say I knew him very well..He always have ideas that seperates against the other family members, even sometimes I disagree with him. And I can say he's not a simple man. Judging from his perspectives but I never come to judge on his appearance, because what he wears is everyday typical. But thats not the point..Once upon a time he told me that he wants his home to be a slice of the Sultan's palace, atleast. He did. And he managed to make it more than just a slice..He made his living room carved with gold landscapes on the ceiling and he has a garden in the backyard with all the landscaped features he always wanted.

I've learned from a wise person, that thinking far can bring you far. But from my own perspective: If you think too far, it only leads to catastrophe.

Theres nothing wrong being beyond simple..Just never mistaken the term with 'beyond normal' Now thats another story.

Revamped

''I'm just waiting till the shine wears off''
-Lost, Coldplay

So hows the new look?

I'm going in for black and just so, not to make it more goth than I imagined..I changed some of the main fonts to orange. Because I like the whole idea of entirely black and a sprinkle of orange here and there. I find it really...catchy...dont you think so? Well despite my post background which is of white. But still, I'm trying to avoid those colour blinding/bright kinds of background. It's just not me. Okayy-So why dont just I stop talking about my own background =P

See..I dont really have much to blog about today..But I'm gonna make this entertaining...with Nidji!! The Indonesian band. Well I dont really like them as much as the 'Gokils' does..Hehe..But I'll try not to spoil the whole detail by saying they have the most superb yet catchy (Did I said catchy again?) songs! Well dont think I'm new to this band..No-Ho..I knew them ages ago..And its kinda impossible someone like me wouldnt realize about Nidji.

And theres this one song of their's..Laskar Pelangi..I could understand the whole message delivered in the song..And I like the idea of the music video too..Just natural like Jason Mraz!! Well..Its official..Making Laskar Pelangi as one of my Happy Songs!!

Nidji Word!!

Open your doors Brunei!

''Caterpillar on the tree..Have you wonder who you'd be..
Cant go far but you can always dream''
Butterfly fly away, Miley Cyrus.

I've seen this video a couple of times..A royal holiday report about Brunei. I find it really fascinating, a naturalist walking on the face of Brunei making reports of Brunei's world hidden architectures and at the same time tossing remarks all over. Know what I mean? Exactly.

I'll promise you..Once you click that play button..It'll open your eyes of how Brunei is really like. And not to mention, how the foreigners would think of Brunei. ''Its really captivating to see, but it'll be more if we experience it''. And there goes another iWaly original conceptual phrase! The video did managed to get satisfying feedbacks from some people..Suprisingly most of them were from foreigners.

Here's one from an individual in UK:

'l337z0r: ''I went there for a while, and stayed with my Uncle who works there (In the Oil industry). It was the furthest away from my home (The UK) I have ever been, and it was... amazing. It sparked an interest in world travel inside me.

It is so nice to get away from the realm of normality and enter a place totally different!

Don't think I would live there though.''

I highlighted a sentence there in thicker font..From my point of view..This is how most foreigners would think of Brunei: Its peacefulness comparing to some other countries. I mean, some people are having intentions to escape all those crimes, pollution, etc in their country and Brunei would be the perfect nonchalant place to settle in.

Below comes one of my favourite remark, Its from a local who lives remotely overseas from Brunei..

Zydahm: ''Being overseas, far away from home, and watching this video.. makes me feel what a blessing and a privilege to be a Bruneian, in spite of the things we don't have like any other country.
I am proud to be a Bruneian = Aku bangga menjadi anak watan Brunei.
Majulah negaraku, majulah anak-anak watan!''

I highlighted two sentences there:

The first is..
Things we dont have like any other country
Well I dont blame this person..Because Brunei doesnt have what we are expecting like some other countries..But Brunei is catching up as we well as improving. Sooner or later we'll get what we want. But I just hope the developments wont get too far cause we dont want to end up like some countries..

The first thing that popped out of my mind was the word Patriotic (Re: Second highlighted sentence) This person, although living overseas has'nt forget who he/she really is..Because some local people living in other countries forget who they really are once they find that particular country to be more interesting than the local country.

Le Miuex Brunei! Le Miuex!!

The i on iWaly

''Trying to get up that great big hill of hope..
for a destination..''
-Whats going on, 4 non blondes

I was browsing through my post archive a few hours ago..And how I was laughing myself back into the past as I was reading some of my oldest posts from last year one by one and somehow, it caught me pondering of what I was experiencing that time when I was composing those posts. It also made me realised that I've changed, alot infact.

First of all, my writtings then comparing now, had a huge gap in between. The way I was writting at that time was random..Words on my mind went straight down to my fingers and leads me Typing them..Exposing them..and Blogging them. My posts were also in the form of randomsity..One time I was blogging about my personal life and the next thing I was writting 'bout MTV..Heh. Laughing back at my old posts or as I like to allude them as 'memories' is really enjoying. Finding out the broken english I was perpetrating that time made me realise my mistakes and weakness and made it feel like a lesson-to-learn.

I also came across those posts that divulges pictures. It was like an album full of old memories. You guys remember those posts that I posted during my one month stay in London..No I wasnt really scanning those pictures for memories but on my writtings. I remembered it very vividly in London when I was sitting in one corner near a veranda while wearing my jacket with a hot bowl of indomee in my hand. Haha. The good ol' days. It has also come to my attention that I've changed interest..Like currently I am captivated by reading while then my interest was way still childish.

Just for the record: So far I havent attempted to change the link/URL of my blog..
iWaly™ has been an icon for me..My families reads my blog, my friends reads my blog and even some people I havent come across reads my blog..

Through blogging, I've collected so many friends. And it captivated me to be more social and putting aside the introvert I usually am. As I have sentenced, laughing back at my older posts/memories is really enjoying. I was thinking of keeping this blog until Im older and see how well I'm gonna laugh back on my current posts.

Breaking news
msnbc.com and NBC News
updated 7:52 a.m. ET April 29, 2009

Texas toddler is first swine flu death in U.S.

WASHINGTON - Officials confirmed the death of a 23-month-old child in Texas from the new strain of swine flu on Wednesday, the first fatality from the condition reported outside Mexico.

Dr. Richard Besser, acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, confirmed the fatality during an interview with NBC News.

Besser told NBC's TODAY show that he didn't believe "this indicates any change in the strain of the flu."

Sixty-six infections had been reported in the United States before the report of the toddler's death in Texas.

"Even though we've been expecting this, it is very, very sad," Besser added. "As a pediatrician and a parent, my heart goes out to the family."

Besser said authorities essentially are still "trying to learn more about this strain of the flu."

"It's very important that people take their concern and channel it into action," Besser said, adding that "it is crucial that people understand what they need to do if symptoms appear.

The world has no vaccine to prevent infection but U.S. health officials aim to have a key ingredient for one ready in early May, the big step that vaccine manufacturers are awaiting.

But even if the World Health Organization ordered up emergency vaccine supplies — and that decision hasn't been made yet — it would take at least two more months to produce the initial shots needed for human safety testing.

***************Nauzubillah***************

It was just this morning that we performed our presentation on the 'News Flash Of The Month' It was a splendour achievement. Amalina is the brain behind the powerpoint presentation. She'd done a great job. Also to the main announcers and the the rest of the speakers. O'Yeah-Not forgetting the guitar players. I also fulfilled my role..on giving a speech about Bobby Chinn's presence in Brunei. A few people from other classes approached me..Saying i'd done a great job with my speaking. I'd taunted..But when people gives you a 'hats-off' we should exchange them with reverence.

The presentation did persuade me. -Alot!! You could be educated by watching the news itself. And that, it explains the 'breaking-news' article above. Received it from my MSN acount. Felt appropriate that i share it here.

I'll be back-Stay tune for more updates :D

Motivate Yourself

''Wake up everyone..How can you sleep at a time like this, unless the dreamer is the real you''
-Make it mine, Jason Mraz.

So i created this whole 'motive' to start a great day via a great morning..Well its actually for myself..But finally i convinced myself to compose it to a post and share it here :D

Chiefly, My focus will be on the morning..Because a great start in the morning leads to a splendour fulfiling day.

Where to start?-The moment you opened you eyes after a good night slumber. Which is..In the morning ofcourse. Its appropriate that you sleep early in the night before cause you'll find it easy to wake up early the next morning. Even if you do woke up early, but prior the night before you slept late..Dont even think to have a fresh start in the morning. Likewise; If you're a heavy sleeper and you've setted an alarm BUT you kept pressing the snooze button until a good 20 minutes had passed by..You realized you are late..And dont ever try to sleep again. For instance; You setted your alarm for 5:30Am but you snoozed it until 5:50Am, You woke up but you opted yourself to continue sleeping again until 6 just cause you are left with a few minutes till that particular time, Do the math people! My point is: Just wake up whenever you opened your eyes, literally.

I dont know if you guys ever skipped shower in the morning? But for me, Morning shower is compulsory..Under my own rules ofcourse. But i am never gonna skip my morning shower. Regardless-Im late or not. Here's a solution (Re: Sleepy heads) Try devoid that sleepiness in you by turning off the water heater and use the usual cold water instead for showering. You'll realize it will only take a few minutes compared with a hot/warm shower. Trust me. Another inevitable thing in the morning is: Brushing your teeth! Hell if you dont.

After a good ol' morning shower, have breakfast. Oh please, Some people have the habit of skipping breakfast. Mom will sue me if she's reading this, Cause i was a breakfast skipper some time before..Hahaa..But seriously avoiding breakfast just leads you to a morning starvation and lethargation. Means: Lack of energy. Try not to eat those fatty/oily/fast-foody foods for breakfast cause you'll end up having stomach aches. Try oatmeals, breads/toasts, porridges, cornflakes or even fruits. Yikes- I almost sounded like my dietition..Haaa'

If you feel that you have much time ahead of you until you're going out for school/work..Whatever you do..Dont start thinking for a power nap on the couch or even turning on the TV! It'll just hinder you! What i recommend is: The radio. Yes-Turn on the radio instead. Listen to some musics. Hear those Dj's speaking. Yeah-its a great form of entertainment. Better yet if your all alone in the house, turn the volume loud until you can hear it almost everywhere you go!! Then again-Spend a few times to the outside. Feel the open air. Bring a cup of hot chocolate/coffee..Take a sip of your drink as you register your whole surroundings. Sometimes i also brought my camera along..Catching the sunrise.

If you have any works/chores..Its appropriate to finish them all on the day before..Cause if you're doing them in the mornings..It'll just impede you and make you late. Dressing up neat, in casses of working or schooling. -Inevitable! Some people, well..you know those kinds that lacks hygine. Sure..They have their shirts, trouses and shoes on..But the way they are..Their hairs? Dont even get me started. Well..If you're those kinds that spents prolong times making/fixing your hair like moi' here..set your time people.

Lastly, Never ever ever groan!! Its typical, Sometimes people groan because its monday. Everybody hates Mondays because Mondays are always the first day after the weekends! Regardless to that statistic..Put those groanings aside. Shut your mouth for a while. Because if you started groaning in the morning (Haa..that rhymes)..You'll find it hard to stop until the end of the day. In a situation like this, we need therapists. To avoid this, try saying something nice and adequate to yourself, to your day. Try thinking of the positive things that you always confronted during the day as opposed to thinking negative.

Well i think that is all that i can share..I didnt even realize this 'motive' i composed here could be so lengthy. This is just the morning..Wait till i make another motive about the rest of the day. Hahaa..Dont count on it. But as said above, A great start in the morning leads to a splendour fulfiling day :D

Teachers For Life

''Hope dangles on a string, Like slow spinning redemption..Winding in, winding out, The shine of it has caught my eye''
-Vindicated, Dashboard Confessional.

I had an encounter with my old kidnergarden teacher a few days ago. We met at Bobby Chinn's live show at KB. So i took the advantage to greet her. From the looks of her face, i could tell, she was suprised. But then again i was the one who got really perplexed when she said ''How are you, Waly?'' Frankly, i thought she didnt know who i was at the first place. I mean come on-its been what? 10 years!! And seldomly i could see her after i gratuated to primary 1 as she retired not longer then.

Now thats what i call -Teachers' for life!!

So we started this conversation, talking bout how life's been lately. She said i've grown up. She barely recognized me but she did. Then she exploited a few jokes saying how'd if Bobby Chinn made ambuyat :P For an old timer, she still got the groove!

****************
Furthermore..
Since i think this post isnt entertaining enough..Here's a trailer of the new upcoming movie: Starring Zac Efron; 17 again.

P/S: In case you are still confounded who my Kidnergarden teacher is..Its Cikgu Malai. Heard she has some relations with our DJ Jenny..hmm..?

Hitler's Mustache

I dont really know what got into us this afternoon..when the whole class starts singing a birthday song to Hitler!

Adolf Hitler; the man who started World World 2 and caused death to billions of people. Yet..we still sang him a birthday song. Well it is Hitler's birthday today. But 10 more days after today, is when the real party starts. As this 30th is also a historical day because its Hitler's Deathday, also the day when Hitler shot himself. Heyy-im good. I dont even have to look in my history book for this one :P

You guys are waiting for me right? Waiting for me to write something like 'Happy Birthday Hitler' Pyuck. Singing him a birthday song is already bad enough for me.haa'

Okayy-I dont know if you guys remember this picture? That i posted earlier October last year.

A picture of me and the ol' Hitler himself.
Madam Tussauds, London. 2008.

I cant really find the original picture..Because i edited this one..
And it looks a little crummy.

Oh yeah, Hitler looked good in this picture 'cause i recommended him to use hair spary before taking a picture with me :P

Be back with more updates.

A Connoisseur and Comedian

So i talked alot of unnecessary things in my previous post. Saying that i was going inactive and all (Re: 'I want to have days of, off blogging') Yeah-that one.

Reason why i cant impede myself on going inactive agian: Cause i want to post some of the pictures of celebrity chef Bobby Chinn in his live cooking show in KB yesterday. In which i attended ofcourse.

Okay-Im sure some of you are still confounded with Bobby's presence in Brunei even though you've heard it a thousand times already in the radio.

For those of you who dont even have the slightest of clue who Bobby Chinn is: Well, he's a celebrity chef that has been almost everywhere around the world trying all sorts of cuisine and gourmets. He has opened his own restaurants in various places. And he's one of those Chinese-Egyptians kind of people.
Now the fact that he's in Brunei just makest those details better :P

He keeps punning about other celebrity chefs. And it always involves Jamie Oliver. Haha

He also banters at the the same time saying how friendly muslims' in Brunei are. :D And then mentioning 'bout how he dated this French girl once. Haaaa.

Bobby and his assistant-Mohammed (Well that's how Bobby pronounce it)
Once there was this crowd with those SLR cameras apperaing suddenly. Then Bobby said 'You just missed him. Jamie Oliver already left a few minutes ago' he cracked me up!!

Honestly; Bobby isnt much of a celebrity chef to me..As one will always be my chef idol: Gordan Ramsey. Bobby is much more of a comedian..hahaa'

The best thing about his show was that i dont even have to squeeze myself into crowds just to get a perfect picture of him. I can stand anywhere. Not like he has a personal bodyguard and all.

Okay-Those pictures are the least i can do to make you guys know more about Bobby Chinn. Better yet-I recorded a video of his live show. I'll see if i can post it here in my blog.

And dont forget to watch his show in channel AFC. Although i dont really know what the show's name is. Hahaa.

P/S: Just pretend my previous post never existed. -Yeah?

Ease Up!!

Jourbon bloggers of the 21st century..
Notice how i have no hesitation in writting the word? Now i know some of you might think i mispelled Jourbon with Bonjour. And for those of you who doesnt have the slightest of clue what im talking 'bout here, well-let me hit you with the french dictionary: Jourbon is a french word, denoting a greet. But get this-The French pronounce 'em the other way around-Bonjour. But the spelling will always remain as jourbon. Cool fact right? :P

Okay-Time for the real points.
Its been a while since i posted my last entry, which is...a few weeks ago?

So just to let you know..Im going Inactive again. Yes i know, the word is so medieval when it comes from my own writing. Cause you've probably seen me a thousand times mentioning the word in my blog. haa'

But its not because of Hiatus this time.

Reason-Cause i want to have days of, OFF-BLOGGING.
Make that, somewhat-A solaceful holiday.

I know i already have those days before, when my updates are lacking. But before doesnt count. It starts from today and onwards. And it aint just gonna be days..Trust me on this one :P

But..As usual..Like i said everytime before going inactive:
I'll be back :D
Until then, my song-of-the-day:
.
Good-Bye.

Burning Up!

Brunei is heating up! And I mean that, literally.

Im sure most of you have experienced the aversion hot weather that Brunei is facing. Everyday! Yes, day after day, it feels like the sun is giving complete adversities to the people here in Brunei. Well, make that the World!!

I used to remember the old times, which was a few years back when Brunei was leisurely windy and cool at the same time even though the sun is shining oh-so remorselessly in the sky..Well take that and versus it with today's Today!! You could see a big difference. You could feel the wind but the heat is resistant through-out the day. The hottest part would be in the afternoon..Where the sun is shining so brightly in the middle of the sky. Talking about when its a school day. Walking out of the school when school dismisses is already exhausting. I'd rather stay in the class with the cool airconditioner running than walking under the midevil sun.

Im sorry, but i get easily irritated by the heat! Do you know it also causes effects to our skin? Like it makes you wanna scratch your skin like crazy because of itchiness. Urgh! Moreover if you're staying under the sun for a very long time, and when you got back home and mirror yourself and found out that you are facing a change of colour on your skin like when its getting slightly darker than usual. Well, truth be told; that was my case. Back in those days when i still attend ugama classes ..Where we have to spent hours sitting in a class that only counts on the wind that passes through the open windows and the heat, as i said resistant, it only makes ourselves wet. No airconditioner if thats what your asking (Not that im really complaining about this) But counting only on the fans..it just makes you stress as it reluctantly making its rotation around and around. AAAHHHH....

I cant stop imagining what would happen to the world in the future..As technology is getting intellectual..and factories will increase and so links to the pollution it will release..and causes Global Warming which, exploits the heating up temperature..And as you can see..I have just crafted a cycle how global warming happened (Re: The whole 'what would happen to the world in the future' thingy) Just so you dont have to get busy hitting the science book looking for what Global Warming actually meant..hahaa ..OMG-I almost sounded like my teacher. Yikes!!

Okay enough said..I gotta sign-off as i have chores to do. Chores? I know right..Its really hard to believe..Since the maid is not comming until a few more weeks i gotta land my hands on the sink: Dishwashing!!

Signing out.
Have a Le Mieux day :D

p/s: To avoid those skin effects (Re: Sccratch your skin like crazy) use Sunscreen. Yeah?
